Chapter 14

Jessica's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night because I started to feel chilly. The blankets were wrapped around my waist and when I looked down, I was only wearing a tank top. I recognized that the top belongs to Yuri as do the shorts. I don't remember changing into these clothes. I actually couldn't remember anything that happened after we left the restaurant except for little scenes here and there. Such as Yuri trying to open the door and hearing gun shots followed by Yuri screaming, "What are you doing". Oh my god! Did Yuri get shot? I looked over to where Yuri would normally be sleeping beside me except she wasn't there.

I started to panic not knowing where she is. Did I bang my head and lose my memory while we were getting mugged or something? Hopefully Yuri isn't the hospital while I'm safe at the dorm. Maybe I'm just overreacting. I mean, I also remember being chased by a huge green cucumber and I highly doubt that actually happened. Maybe Yuri just went to the bathroom. I laid there in the dark for a bit waiting for Yuri to come back. After what seemed like forever, I got out of bed to go look for her.

The living room and kitchen were both empty. Even though the light was off, I checked the bathroom anyway. Nobody. Where could Yuri possibly be? Surely not in the hospital.

Like a madwoman, I started to check each room starting with mine. She wasn't in there either. Without knocking, I opened the door to the next room --Tiffany's. Other than Seohyun and Taeyeon sleeping, nobody else was there. Wait a minute, Taeyeon? If she's in here, then where is Tiffany? Now I'm convinced that Yuri got shot in the head and Tiffany accompanied her to the hospital.

My panic increases and I'm almost close to tears. Searching for the last bit of hope, I open the door to Taeyeon's room. The first person that I see is Yuri and relief sweeps over me. I run over and begin to hug her. "Thank goodness you're ok." I manage to say in between sobs.

But what I saw next made me want to cry even harder. She was holding hands with Yoona.

"Yuri-yah..." I shake her lightly.

"Mmmm Sica?"

"Come. Let's go sleep in our room." I separate her hand from Yoona's and push Yoona's head off her shoulders.

Yuri turned over onto her side to face me. As she's mumbling, I bring my head closer trying to hear. "...you... so... sleep here." I look at Yoona's small bed trying to figure out why Yuri would want me to sleep here.

"Yul, I can't sleep here. The bed's too small."

"...Fany changed... pants."

At this point, I'm tired and angry at the sight of her with Yoona and now I have to decipher what she's saying. Getting frustrated, I raise my voice slightly so not to wake up the others.

"Yuri! What are you trying to say?" There's no response from her. I slap her on the arm not caring if she woke up or not.

I sit next to the bed feeling defeated and unsure of what to do. I eventually got up, but instead of returning to Yuri's room, I go over to where Tiffany is sleeping.

"Fany, I'm sleeping here with you tonight," I whispered into her ear.

Tiffany brushes her ear. "Sure, whatever."

I climb onto the bed and pull the warm covers over my bare shoulders. Before falling asleep again, I look over past Sooyoung to where Yuri is sleeping. Why didn't she sleep in her own room... with me?
