Pain. I cough into my fist. I slowly open my eyes. I'm in a bed. The room is dim and the curtains are covering the window. Mikasa is sitting in a chair beside me fast asleep. I sit up. My stomach hurts. I groan and cough into my fist again. Mikasa grunts and wakes up. She lifts up her head and gasps. "Eren" she breathes. "Mikasa...what hap-" She jumps off her chair and embraces me into a hug. I'm shocked, but hug her back. She sobs into my shoulder. "Eren" Mikasa cries. "W-w-what happened?". I'm silent. "I-I-I can't" I whisper. Mikasa takes my head into her hands and lays me down. "It's okay Eren" she coos. "Just rest". I nod and close my eyes. Mikasa stands up again. I slowly feel myself nod off to sleep. But something happens. I feel something cover my mouth that's warm and moist. I snap my eyes open. Mikasa opens the door and leaves me. I knew what happened. I could recognize that feeling from anywhere. Mikasa had kissed me on the lips!

I stare up at the roof. I was bored. I hear the door open. It's Levi. I sit up. "Oh..hello corporal" I croak. Levi says nothing. He pulls up a chair and sits by my bed. His face is pale white. "Eren....how are you doing?" Levi asks. I feel awkward. I swear I could hear emotion when he said that. "Good". Levi nods. "Are you okay Levi?" I ask. Levi looks up at me. I see tears in his eyes. "Look Eren...." Levi begins. "You remind me...of someone". I sit up straighter. "Levi...I don't want to stress you or an-". Levi stands up, clutching his fist. "Her name was Isabel Magnolia" He begins. "She was pretty quirky and a bit to over confident". 

"She....reminds me....of you" he sighs. I close my eyes. Levi was crying? I put my hand on his shoulder. "Levi....I'm sorry" I croak. Levi shakes his head. "No need for that".  The door opens...and Armin comes in. I feel tears in my eyes. "Armin" I croak. Armin sits down beside me. I embrace him into a hug. Armin smiles and hugs me back. "T-thank you" he says. I hold back tears, not wanting to cry in front of Levi. But it's no use. I sob into Armin's shoulder. Levi suddenly gets up and embraces me into a hug as well. I feel safe. I cry harder. "Thank you" I sob. "Thank you...".

The sun is setting. I bite into the piece of bread and savor it. I was very hungry. Levi and Armin walk by my side along the edge of the wall. I was calm now. "Jaeger" Levi begins. "Can...you tell us what happened". I'm calm. I nod. "After Annie smashed me.....she healed me" I begin. Levi looked at me in disbelief. "W--what?". I go on. "But she left me to die" I begin to wipe away tears. "We were brought back and healed.....and Annie kept trying to win me back". I fall to my knees. "I should never have trusted her". "But didn't you used to have a crush on her?" Armin asks. I squeeze my eyes shut. "I was foolish". I sigh. I stand up. "COMMANDER!" I hear Rico scream. "YOU NEED TO COME SEE THIS!". levi pats my shoulder and begins to walk away. "LEVI WAIT!" I yell. Levi turns around. "I-I-I.....know how Marco died".
