It's 11 am, Jiayuan has just woken up from another late gaming night (blame that freaking losing streak). He has an important meeting at 1:30, notes are still to be prepared. But for some reason here he is, a cup of coffee in hand, watching a youtube video about math. Math! His major is contemporary music for god's sake. And he was never even good at math in high school.

So why did youtube suggest this video to him? Why did he decide to click on the stupid title that said something like "Mathematician Answers Math Questions From Twitter"? And why is he still watching it?

Math has always had the reputation of being plain right or wrong. And also, it's just really hard. So to Jiayuan, mathematicians have a certain air of an authority figure, so distant and kind of scary. Right now though, it's the opposite. The presenter in the video is wearing a simple black tee like a neighbor from next door, with a face that can be an instructor from the theater department of his school, and a voice that rivals the best student in acting major. Hmm, since when are mathematicians that young and handsome?

There is something about the way that one single strand of hair just keeps falling on his forehead like it is making an example of the messy math that the young professor is explaining. And then, as if to further demonstrate that not all mathematicians process the same concepts in the same ways or do things in the same ways, he brings both his arms up to brush his hair backward, and oh boy that simple gesture never looked so mesmerizing before.

Long slender fingers weave through lush black mane, his arms flex as he holds the hair back on top of his head. Yooo seriously. Those biceps should be illegal on someone who looks so slim at first glance! But of course, he won't be fooled as those broad shoulders can probably carry him around and manhandle him in bed, dare Jiayuan daydream in the chilly winter morning.

The video comes to an end in what feels like an instant. So that has been 17 minutes and 12 seconds that he should be working on his own deadlines. Worth it, Jiayuan decided. He's not sure if he grasps the concept of number pi a little bit more, or if he finally understands how the nightmare that he struggled with in high school can help him in his adult life. But there is one thing he knows for sure. Math is so sexy, he thought as he click on the link in the description of the video. The twitter account read: @danielzhou_6D.
